On April 3, 2023, the six founding directors of the Rotary Fellowship for Francophonie met for the first General Assembly.

The inception of a Rotary Fellowship
The idea of a community of french speaking Rotarians isn't new, but to make it happen, you need to bring together people who are willing and able to work hard. Creating a Rotary Fellowship requires a certain amount of effort, mainly administrative but also in terms of membership and organization.
To have our project officially validated by Rotary International, we have started since 2022 to prepare a set of documents: bylaws, etc.
After many coordination meetings and a lot of teamwork, the creation of the Rotary Fellowship for Francophonie was finally approved by the Board of Directors of Rotary International on 6 March 2023.
Meanwhile, we have created an association under the french law of 1901 with the same name, whose creation was published in the Journal Officiel on February 21, 2022. This allowed us to open a bank account, which is used to receive the fellowship fees of our members.
Epilogue
After several months of preparatory work and administrative procedures, both with Rotary International and the French administration, a small get-together with some champagne was more than welcome !
